If Wales is serious about tackling the climate emergency, it has to provide serious funding for active travel. Join us on October 2nd for this year’s Cycle on the Senedd to demand an investment of £20 per head per annum in active travel in Wales and a comprehensive active travel strategy.
We will be cycling from Pedal Power in Pontcanna to the Senedd steps where we will lobby Ministers and Assembly Members.
Last year over 200 people came to the Senedd to make our case, let’s make sure that this year we have many more!
We will be gathering in Pedal Power from 12.00 noon with the last set of riders setting out for the Senedd at 12.20pm, arriving at the Senedd for the lobby at 1.00pm.
The event is being supported by cycle groups across Wales, including Beicio Bangor, Cardiff Cycle City, Carmarthenshire Cycle Forum, CTC North Wales and Wheelwrights, as well as organisations like British Heart Foundation, British Lung Foundation, Clean Air Cymru, Cycling UK, Friends of the Earth Cymru, Oxfam Cymru, Pedal Power, Sustrans Cymru, and Welsh Cycling.
The Twitter hashtag for the event is: #cycleonthesenedd
Please note by registering for this event you are signing up for the cycle ride from Pedal Power in Pontcanna to the Senedd. If you are unable to join us for the ride but want to be with us on the steps of the Senedd, please sign up to the ‘Lobby Only’ event here.
